Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 May 2026

Wheelstherapy ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Wheelstherapy mobile application (the "App"). This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and your rights under applicable law including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Data Controller

The data controller responsible for your personal data is:

Wheelstherapy

2. Data We Collect

Account data — when you register, we collect your email address and display name via AWS Cognito (our authentication provider). This is necessary to provide your account and verify your membership.

Profile photo — if you choose to upload a profile picture, it is stored securely in Amazon S3. This is entirely optional.

Location data — the App uses your device's GPS while you are actively navigating a route. Your real-time location is processed locally on your device and by Mapbox (see Third Parties below) solely to provide turn-by-turn navigation. We do not store your live location on our servers.

Payment data — membership subscriptions are processed by Apple (App Store) and managed by RevenueCat. We receive only your subscription status (active, expired, etc.) — we never see or store your payment card details.

Usage analytics — we use PostHog to collect anonymised product events (e.g. which screens you visit, session length). This helps us improve the App. No personally identifiable information is included in these events.

Crash and error data — we use Sentry to capture crash reports. These reports may include device model, OS version, and a stack trace. They do not include your name, email, or location.

3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

4. Third-Party Services

We rely on the following sub-processors. Each has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data:

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law. Anonymised analytics data may be retained indefinitely as it cannot identify you.

6. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights:

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at onlinewebspacejunk@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in Belgium: dataprotectionauthority.be).

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us immediately.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
